Elise Jones has been sharing her passion for movement and wellness since 2001, beginning her journey in group fitness and later diving deep into the practice of yoga in 2007. With a rich background in multiple modalities, Elise spent over 15 years pursuing continuing education, earning new certifications nearly every year, and teaching in a variety of gyms and studios before opening her own space in 2018. As the founder of Utah Yoga & Wellness, Elise created Midway’s first wellness studio, offering group classes, Yoga Therapy, retreats, and community events. In 2022, she co-founded Midway Studio Collective, a shared space designed to support local teachers, small businesses, and wellness professionals with pop-up, workshop, and classroom space to grow and thrive. Elise is a certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), completing a 3-year program with over 140 clinical hours in settings such as rehab centers, trauma programs, and veteran support initiatives. She is also a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) and teacher trainer, having launched her first 200HR Yoga Teacher Training in 2015. When COVID-19 hit in 2020, she adapted her offerings to the online world, hosting live classes, virtual workshops, and wellness retreats, while also creating her own line of branded wellness tools and equipment. Elise's journey has been shaped by her personal health experiences. As someone living with advanced Heart Failure (CHF), she prefers to focus on “Heart Success”—emphasizing what is possible. After multiple surgeries, including open heart and lung resection, Elise has become a passionate advocate for the chronic illness and heart health communities. She currently serves on the board of the Women’s Wellness Summit, American Heart Association’s Women of Impact, and the Midway Boosters, and collaborates on heart health research with her medical team and IHC.
Known for her joyful spirit and creative energy, Elise even certified in Roller Fitness—bringing playfulness back into movement as a reminder that joy and laughter are essential parts of healing. Whether teaching yoga, leading a retreat, hosting a meditation by the river, or skating with her community, Elise is committed to helping others connect to their bodies, breath, and hearts—one joyful movement at a time.

Her teaching is grounded in both personal experience and extensive education, combining evidence-based science with ancient healing practices to guide others toward wholeness and lasting transformation. She began her formal yoga journey in 2012, completing her 200HR RYT at Asheville Yoga Center, studying under respected teachers including Stephanie Keach, Michael Johnson, Shala Worsley, and Kimberley Puryear. In 2014, she graduated with honors in Exercise Science and worked in a neural rehabilitation research lab, where she developed a fascination with the brain-body connection—a passion that continues to inform her work today. She went on to teach yoga courses at the University of South Carolina and later spent five years apprenticing with a chiropractor, deepening her understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the nervous system.
In 2018, she earned her 500HR RYT and began her Yoga Therapy training with Inbody Yoga Academy. Most recently, she completed Breathwork training with D’ana Baptiste in 2024, further expanding her tools to support clients on their healing journey. Her own personal healing story—including putting an autoimmune disorder into remission using food, lifestyle, and holistic practices—has fueled her dedication to helping others reclaim their wellness. Today, her work focuses on helping clients release old wounds, rewire the nervous system, and create new neural pathways—breaking free from long-held patterns and moving toward lives filled with freedom, clarity, and joy. As a mother of seven and a business owner, she intimately understands how chaotic and full life can be—and also how essential it is to anchor into the simplicity of daily practices that nourish body, mind, and spirit. Her approach is warm, practical, and deeply empowering. She is currently accepting new private clients for yoga, breathwork, and holistic mentorship.
